On Friday 13^th June, 2025, staff of Rwanda Energy Group working in Kigali and approximately celebrated the international Labour Day 2025 at IPRC Kigali, a celebration mixed with rewarding best performing employees, staff going to retirement and entertainment.

The event brought together REG Senior Managers, Hub and Branch Managers together with staff working in REG under Kigali hub (REG Branches in Districts of Kigali plus REG Branches in Kamonyi, Bugesera, Rulindo and Gicumbi Districts) all gathered at IPRC Kigali to celebrate the international labour day 2025.

The same event in REG will celebrated on 20^th June, 2025 by REG staff working in Branches and Hubs upcountry to ensure that they all gather at the same place and discuss the performance improvement.

REG management appreciated efforts done by the Staff to deliver to the company’s mandate, reiterating REG commitment to fast-track access to electricity by Rwandans.

“I want to thank the organizers for bringing the innovation in the celebration of this labour day, playing different sports put all us together, we network and we brainstorm how to fast-track electricity access and improve service delivery.” Said CEO of REG Armand Zingiro in his opening remarks.

Usanase Petronile who talked on behalf of other REG Staff going to retirement, thanked the management of REG for thinking about them and inviting them in the celebrations of labour day.

She said that even though they are retiring they still have energy and they will be ambassadors of REG wherever they will be.

On that day, REG staff competed in football, basketball, volleyball, running with stick (agati), pulling the cold, running the legs in bags, among others.

Apart from competitions in different sports’ disciplines, former REG staff who went to retirement during 2024/2025 Fiscal Year were acknowledged together with best performers.

This day which was globally celebrated on 01^st May 2024 in Rwanda and worldwide, was celebrated by REG staff weeks after due to other conflicting assignments Managers had to execute.
