
The Minister of Infrastructure, Jimmy Gasore, on Thursday 7th May 2026 evening hosted the REG Volleyball Club team at the Ministry of Infrastructure in recognition of their outstanding achievement at the 2026 CAVB Men’s Club Championship, where the club secured third place and won the bronze medal.
During the reception, Minister Gasore congratulated REG VC players, technical team, and REG management for their remarkable performance and dedication throughout the continental tournament. He praised the team for demonstrating resilience, discipline, and determination, qualities that enabled them to compete successfully against some of Africa’s top volleyball clubs.
The Minister noted that REG VC’s achievement is not only a milestone for the club but also a source of pride for Rwanda and an important contribution to the growth and visibility of Rwandan sports on the African stage. He emphasized that the success reflects the country’s growing talent and competitiveness in different sporting disciplines.
Minister Gasore further reaffirmed the government’s continued support for the development of sports, encouraging the team to remain focused and continue striving for greater achievements in future competitions.
REG VC players expressed appreciation for the warm reception and continued encouragement from the Ministry of Infrastructure. The club described the recognition as a motivation to keep pursuing excellence and representing Rwanda with pride in regional and continental competitions.
