We visited Mubuga Technical Secondary School in Karongi District, offering Software Development and Electrical Technology programs, where we found that the school has taken a significant step in addressing its growing electricity needs by installing a dedicated transformer.

This infrastructure upgrade is already making a visible impact on the school’s operations and student life. According to Dusabimana Jean Baptiste, the headmaster of the school, the dedicated transformer has significantly improved the institution's ability to function smoothly and independently.

“The dedicated transformer has been a game-changer for us,” Dusabimana said. “It helps us in running our computer labs efficiently, supporting night competitions in basketball and volleyball, and most importantly, we remain with power even when other parts of the area experience outages.”

The school’s experience demonstrates how reliable electricity is essential not only for academic purposes but also for extracurricular activities that foster talent and holistic development.
